The Region

Integrated in the city triangle of Aachen - Cologne - Dusseldorf City Centre Jülich is located in the northern part of the district of Düren in the southwestern part of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Jülich city lies in the natural area "Jülich flare" (Jülicher Börde). The northern district of Düren is significantly influenced by its long tradition of hard coal and lignite mining, and intensive agricultural activity on excellent soils. Evidence of historic, current and future energy are found in a unique way in a confined space.
