Tamil arts and cultural association
The association was founded in 2003 in order to cultivate cultural exchange. In the association, the living together and mutual support are in the foreground. German and Tamil adolescents jointly learn how to dance and thus also get to know the culture of the respectively other country.
The contact person of the association, Mr. Nadaraja Jeyakumar, was awarded the honorary award for social commitment of the district of Düren in 2006. His objective of promoting the interpersonal exchange of Tamils and Germans pushes him. Although being a Hindu, he is a committed member of the evangelic parish in Aldenhoven.
The Tamil dancing group regularly practices in Jülich and Aldenhoven. Visitors or girls who are interested in it and would like to join are welcome. The dancing group meets on Saturdays between 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. in the evangelic kindergarden in Aldenhoven. In Jülich, the group meets every Sunday between 9.00 a.m. and 1.00 p.m. in the West building of the grammar school Zitadelle, Düsseldorfer Straße. The association goes on stage all over North Rhine-Westphalia. Everyone who is interested may become a member. No membership fee is collected.
